At The Community House, we’re more than just a nonprofit organization, we’re a warm and welcoming hub of the community that serves individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Our services are provided in Hinsdale, Illinois and the surrounding suburbs, but no matter where you live, you’re welcome to play, engage and learn with us. We are passionate about ensuring that everyone has the chance for growth, connection, and support opportunities.

The Community House offers a space to create, learn, and perform through fine arts. Programs are available for all ages.

Our childcare services offer a nurturing and stimulating environment for children. We offer K.E.A.P., our kindergarten enrichment program, and before & after the bell programs to support the development of young minds.

Evidence-based counseling, wellness and support services on a sliding scale for children, young adults and families.

Our recreation services offer a diverse array of opportunities for individuals of all ages to explore, learn, and connect with others. From art classes that unlock your creativity to athletics that keep you active, life skill classes that empower you, and clubs that build community, we have something for everyone.

The heartwarming tale of The Community House began in 1941. In the midst of World War II’s challenges, a compassionate group of Hinsdale residents noticed a growing need for support within their community. Their unwavering belief was that in times of great adversity, communities should come together and provide support. The Community House embarked on a journey that has continually transformed, grown, and adapted to meet the evolving needs of the community. Today, we proudly stand as a living testament to the enduring strength of community spirit, deification, and resilience.

The compelling story of The Community House unfolds in 1941. As the world grappled with the challenges of World War II, a group of residents in Hinsdale recognized a growing need within their community. They firmly believed that in times of great adversity, the community should rally together and support each other.

The Community House embarked on a journey that has evolved, expanded, and adapted to meet the changing needs of our society.
